Hayle River Community Project
In 2022 Cornwall Council worked with Environment Agency to create a plan for the future of the Hayle River that considered current footpaths, flood protection and habitat creation.
The Vision Plan identified over 30 opportunities and since its publication, a stakeholder group has continued to meet to take initiatives forward.

The car park is quite isolated and there have been reports of anti-social behaviour. The access to the river from the car park could be improved as this is one of the main car parking areas. The bird watching facilities (wildlife hide) could also be improved.
0 comment3Forefoxalmost 2 years agoMake the river path between village bridge and Causeway walkable at all times of the year and tides, especially where it floods a high tide.
Ensure at the same time there is a better easier access up the bank to eventually join up with Hayle cycle path/footpath and place a bus stop and shelter preferably with bike rack on the Causeway road for villagers and visitors to have safe level access to mainline buses and thus the wider world rather than reliant on an extremely sparse poor bus service (ostensibly 2 return journeys a day widely spaced out). This would encourage healthy exercise and greater use of public transport.
