Reporting damage at the coast
Cornwall's extensive and beautiful coastline is one of our greatest assets but it can also be a challenge to maintain. As the Coast Protection Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority for Cornwall, Cornwall Council has an important role to play in the management and maintenance of coastal structures, including coastal heritage structures. Many of the these protect communities from sea flooding and coastal erosion, as well as forming key parts of the community's identity. Structures, or assets, can include sea walls, embankments, saltmarshes, beach structures and more. The public are a key tool to help us manage these, so that everyone can enjoy the coast safely and without increasing risks of flooding or erosion.
