My Team Around Me (MTAM)
A collaborative, person-centred, trauma-responsive approach to support people with multiple vulnerabilities.
My Team Around Me (MTAM) is designed for those who need sustained, empowering support and better access to services.
As needs become more complex and long‑term, creative solutions are required. My Team Around Me provides a multi-agency response in a compassionate and coordinated way. It strengthens collaboration, reduces isolation for both individuals and practitioners, and improves outcomes across the system.
Where We Are Now
We are taking a phased approach to roll out, currently supporting practitioners to begin training and start using a My Team Around Me approach in MDTs. This will help build shared practice, consistency, and stronger collaboration across the system.
A new escalation process is in development for launch on 1st October 2026. Until then, please continue to use existing internal escalation procedures or refer to the High‑Risk Behaviour Panel when required.
Resource Toolkit
As part of our wider service offer, a number of resources have been developed and can be found in the side bar of this page. These include:
* Resources – all you will need for arranging, running and documenting your MTAM meetings. This section include the Guidance Document along with a handy outline of the MTAM meeting structure.
* FAQs - Bite-sized information answering key questions about the MTAM approach.
* Training & development – Alongside our 'Introduction to MTAM' and 'Leading on Complex Cases' training sessions we will also offering a monthly 'lunch & learn' to help practitioners consolidate their understanding of the MTAM approach. This will be supplemented by topic-specific 'lunch & learn' sessions in the autumn to help practitioners further their knowledge and understanding.
* Videos – Sessions from previous training programmes and Outreach Systems days relevant to MTAM are available here.
