Localism Climate Change Workshops
Leading on from the Localism Climate Summit for Town and Parish Council and Community Groups in November 2019 - we embarked on holding a series of six Localism Climate Change workshops. The aim of the workshops is to help share information about climate change schemes and initiatives and ideas on how we can work together to address climate change and help Cornwall to become carbon neutral.
The first workshop was held in Liskeard in February 2020.
We heard from Cllr Edwina Hannaford, Cornwall Council Cabinet Member for Climate Change, about Cornwall Council's action plan and work to tackle climate change in Cornwall. We also heard about the Forest for Cornwall and from Rob Lacey about the new Climate Change Planning Development Document or DPD that will help to tackle climate change by supporting green energy, enhancing the environment, more efficient housing, greener travel, and community resilience to safeguard the future for everyone.
You can view the presentations given at the workshop using the links in the 'Documents and presentations' box on the right of this page è
Unfortunately the other workshops had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic but we will hold them as soon as national guidelines and team capacity allow us to.
