Noticing.

I noticed whilst shut throughout lockdown that Instagram was the chosen way to contact me, therefore i was selling more to a much younger customer believing the usual customer may be shielding and not out daily walking and browsing my shop window. I thought whilst the students or staff are off or furloughed they must be reading more? Knowing my industry very well I decided upon opening up again to dress the window accordingly and so now have a new crowd with a love for reading and browsing my shop. They've discovered beauty maybe of the quirkiness and smell of second hand books. Whatever it is it's working. I was contacted only a few times for books and i went out in my van and delivered though not much. In the second hand book world it's key that you pay attention, notice and who is out and about. Trends change all the time and as a business woman it's been essential that i move with the trends, demands and what is going on on the street, uni, retirement and local culture. The shop has also had a contemporary makeover outside and maybe this freshness has brought in fresh blood!
