Local Shopper.

I don't have a business but always try to shop local for environmental reasons. I think small independents are always at a disadvantage because of business rates and the 'proximity' to government of the big supermarkets. It is a total myth that stuff is cheaper in the big stores. They have 'loss leaders' where they screw the Farmers. Their practices are appalling and they take no heed of bad harvests. Going to big stores tends to rely on car ownership too and encourages short, polluting journeys.

The independents looked after people do well during lockdown, they deserve a boost now. If we carry on relying on Tesco, Waitrose etc we will regret it.
