The South West Climate Change Centre is an interactive exhibition at Heartlands in Pool, Cornwall.
Update: due to the Heartlands visitor attraction currently being closed, the South West Climate Change Centre is temporarily closed to general visitors. As soon as this changes we will provide further information.
The interactive exhibition looks at the causes of the climate emergency, the need for flood prevention and resilience, nature recovery and the Forest for Cornwall, and why everyone needs to take action to lower their carbon footprint.
There are three rooms to explore:
Visit the BeFloodReady exhibition and discover how to make your home or business more resilient to flooding, and how to be prepared in the event of a flood. The interactive exhibition shows what a flood resilient home could look like, with a flood tank that shows what could happen if their homes were flooded. Visit the BeFloodReady website.
Visit the Climate Change exhibit and see the role of carbon in our lives. Find out about the changes we can all make at home and work, to slow the rate of climate change, and adapt to its impacts, and make a real difference. The interactive Tardis-style console and 4D film, shows what could happen if we don’t act fast enough.
Visit the Trees and Nature Hub. Explore how you can help nature recovery in your area at the Forest for Cornwall Trees & Nature Hub. Find out how we are supporting residents, communities, farmers and landholders to plant trees across Cornwall to benefit nature, people, and production as well as helping to mitigate climate change. For more information about the Forest for Cornwall visit this page.
