Give Your SEND Students a Supported Start into Employment with EBP!
Helping bridge the employment gap for young people with SEND.
Cornwall EBP is delighted to announce the Supported Work Experience Programme 2025: an innovative funded pilot project to tackle the underrepresentation of young people with SEND in the workforce.
The Challenge: Currently, less than 5% of young people with SEND transition into employment compared to over 80% of their peers. A survey conducted by Mencap in 2018 revealed that at least 65 per cent of people interviewed with a learning disability said they would like to be in paid work.
Meeting the Challenge: EBP will run a 5-day programme specifically designed for students with SEND to offer a meaningful alternative to traditional placements, and equip students with the skills and confidence to succeed in the workplace.
Benefits for Your Students:
- Inclusive Opportunities: Help your SEND students explore the world of work in a supportive group-work format
- EBP Program Leadership: Our experienced team will work with you to build a programme that meets your students' needs.
- Variety of Activities: employer engagement, offsite visits, employability skills workshops, and more!
Join the Pilot: Schools can submit an Expression of Interest to be considered for one of the ten funded pilot programmes. Schools selected for the pilot will need to:
- Provide a named contact to liaise over planning, delivery and post-programme review.
- Enlist support from your SLT
- Complete a planning meeting with an EBP Project Manager to draw up an action plan
- Engage with parents and carers
- Complete a final review meeting and written case study of your programme
