Foundation for Practice Sponsored Traineeship Annual Review

The Trainee Social Worker Programme, as part of the Cornwall Foundation for Social Work, has been in place since 2012. As you will be aware the programme provides a unique opportunity for candidates to undertake their Social Work training whilst being employed by the Council. The traineeship has proved incredibly successful with 63 trainees enrolling on the scheme since its inception.

We currently have 19 trainees with us studying either the SW Degree Apprenticeship, or the Post Graduate diploma in Social Work, both via the Open University. Since 2020 we have been able to advertise externally to complement our existing Traineeship scheme which was only available for internal TFF employees.

The past 18 months have been exceptionally difficult through the pandemic, and our sponsored trainees, with some adaptations and additional support, have continued throughout, making their learning and development even more challenging, and their achievements even more impressive.

As part of our continuing evaluation and review; we are undertaking our annual review of the Trainee Social Work scheme. I would be keen to receive your views on your experiences of the traineeship over the last 12 months; and any ideas or suggestions you would like to raise for its future development. This could be in your role as either as a supervisor, Manager or Practice Educator.

How will you protect my information?

Your data will be stored securely and will only be accessible by members of Together for Families. Your consent for your data to be used in the evaluation will be assumed from you starting the survey.

Who am I giving my information to?

The evaluation is being carried out by Together for Families. You can view our privacy notice at www.cornwall.gov.uk/tffprivacynotice.

How will you store my personal data?

Survey responses will be collected using the Let’s Talk Cornwall survey software. By completing this survey, you consent to this transfer of your information. This includes any information which may represent your personal data. All the information you share with Together for Families will be stored safely for the duration of the evaluation. It will be destroyed one year after it has finished.
