Cornwall Council are looking to do something different with the buildings we deliver our frontline services from. We want to create a single space for our customers to access multiple services and meet the needs of the local community.
A review of St Austell and the surrounding area has been carried out and, after considering various options, we have decided to create a new Service Hub.
Service Hubs provide a welcoming environment for the community, and offer easy access to essential services such as the Family Hub, Registrars, Adult Education and Safe and Well.
The chosen site in St Austell is White River Place. This new hub will cater for multiple services including Family Hub, Adult Education, Registrars and the Safe & Well service.
Chi Austel is the new name for the St Austell Service Hub. The name is derived from the Cornish language, where “Chi” means “house” and “Austel” refers to St Austell.
