Right On Survey 2023 - Evaluation

In Spring 2023, 73 schools and colleges across Cornwall took part in the Right On Survey 2023 and more than 8,200 children and young people in Year 4 and above told us their views and shared experiences on a wide range of issues that impact their lives. 

Schools received bespoke reports and SHEU (the Schools Health Education Unit) also produced a series of topic reports.

Schools are using the results to improve support and adapt practice to meet children’s needs, inform how they communicate with students, and inform school improvement plans. Within the Council the results are informing service and strategy development.

The reports are available to view via the Service for schools platform via this page. Please note you will need to be logged in to the platform to view the page. Alternatively you can search via the home page on the platform by searching for 'Right On Survey'. If you do not have an account with the services for schools platform, please request an account via https://schools.cornwall.gov.uk/Enquiry/SignUp. 

We would be grateful for feedback on your experience of the Right On survey, how the results have been used, the impact this is having and any suggestions for improving the survey. We hope to repeat the survey in 2025 and will once again invite all settings in Cornwall to participate. Your feedback will help us understand the benefits to schools and pupils and improve the survey design for 2025.

Your data will be stored securely and will only be accessible by members of Together for Families. Your consent for your data to be used in the evaluation will be assumed from you starting the survey. 

Who am I giving my information to?

How will you store my personal data? 

Survey responses will be collected using the Let’s Talk Cornwall survey software. By completing this survey, you consent to this transfer of your information.  This includes any information which may represent your personal data. All the information you share with Together for Families will be stored safely for the duration of the evaluation.  It will be destroyed one year after it has finished. 

Let’s Talk Cornwall is the system used to collate the data and create reports from it. You can view the privacy statement on the Let’s Talk Cornwall website

All settings (with pupils in Year 4 and above) in Cornwall were invited to participate in the survey and we were delighted that 73 took part. However, we would like to understand why other settings didn’t participate. We hope to repeat the survey in 2025 and will once again invite all settings to participate.
