Property Flood Resilience Expression of Interest

Please complete our questionnaire to register your interest in Property Flood Resilience.

Completing this questionnaire is not a guarantee that your property will be selected to participate in the scheme. We will use it to prioritise applications for the scheme. Once the scheme launches we will be in touch to progress your participation on the scheme if suitable. Completing this questionnaire also does not commit you to participating in the scheme if you change your mind.

If you have any questions, please contact floodrisk@cornwall.gov.uk

Privacy notice

Who will control my data?

The Data Controller for all the information you provide on this form is Cornwall Council, New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro TR1 3AY. Data Protection Registration Number: Z1745294

If you need help in understanding or completing this form, please contact the Environmental Resilience & Adaptation team by emailing floodrisk@cornwall.gov.uk.

How we will use the information about you

Cornwall Council, as a Lead Local Flood Authority, is required under the Flood and Water Management Act to lead and manage local flood risk and carry out works to manage local flood risk in the area.

Who else will we share your information with?

We will only use this information in conjunction with your application for PFR. This will include sharing the information with our contracted surveyor (JBA Consulting) and installer, so that they can complete the property flood hazard survey and install property resilience measures at your property. We will also share the addresses of properties that have benefitted from the scheme with the Environment Agency to meet the funding requirements.

Your data will be held within Cornwall Council’s secure network and premises and will not be processed outside of the EEA. Access to your information will only be made to authorised members of staff who are required to process it for the purposes outlined in this privacy notice.

Our sub-contractor(s) detailed in this privacy notice will also maintain the same levels of security that we do which are set out in the contract we have with them.

How long will you keep this information for?

Your information will be kept for the duration of the scheme. After the project ends, only the address of the property will be retained for up to 10 years for funding and flood risk management purposes. All other personal information will be destroyed. Addresses of properties that had a survey but have not completed their installation will need to be kept in case they need to be carried over to a future scheme.

What are my data rights?

Your personal information belongs to you and you have the right to:

  • be informed of how we will process it
  • request a copy of what we hold about you and in commonly used electronic format if you wish (if you provided this to us electronically for automated processing, we will return it in the same way)
