Tuckingmill, Pendarves Street: Relocation of bus stop and parking restrictions.
We are proposing to relocate the west bound bus stop and introduce parking restrictions on Pendarves Street in Tuckingmill, Camborne.
What are we consulting on?
We are proposing to relocate the existing bus stop on Pendarves Street slightly to the west, further up the hill. As part of this proposal:
- The live bus departure information display, bus stop flag and timetable case will be relocated to the new stop.
- New bus stop markings at the relocated bus stop.
- The existing bus bay will be converted into a timed parking bay, allowing vehicles to park for a limited period.
Why are we doing this?
This change will help buses stay on schedule, as they would not have to wait to rejoin traffic. It will also make it easier for people to get on and off the bus.
By making this change, we will also create more convenient parking spaces for cars, which will help people access nearby shops and local businesses more easily.
This proposal is part of Cornwall’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), which supports the Government’s ‘Bus Back Better’ strategy.
The aim is to make bus services more reliable, affordable, and better connected.
Cornwall Council and local bus companies worked together to find places where the bus network needs improving. The route through Camborne, Pool, and Redruth was highlighted as a priority area that needs changes to help buses run more smoothly.
Next steps
The consultation period runs from 15th May to 5th June 2025. If no one has any major objections, we will move on to the construction phase and aim to complete this by the winter of 2025.
