Community organised screenings of the People’s Emergency Briefing film will be taking place over the coming weeks (with dates already set in April and May). The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing (NEB), held in Westminster on 27 November 2025, where experts and concerned citizens called for stronger UK action on the climate and nature crisis. Local groups are hosting community based, supportive conversations around the film, and invite residents and other representatives to attend.

The risks described by leading scientists and practitioners in the NEB echoes the intelligence from Cornwall Council’s Climate Risk Assessment, which identifies growing issues for Cornwall’s communities around energy, the economy, infrastructure, food systems, and the natural environment from accelerating climate impacts.

As set out at the NEB, nature is critical national infrastructure. Local evidence shows degrading natural systems increases flood risk, food insecurity, health pressures, and economic vulnerability. Protecting and restoring nature is fundamental to Cornwall’s long-term resilience, as set out in our recently published Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

Planned community screenings are being added to a map (shown below), with information about locally organised events.

For further information about the NEB and the call to host a local screening, visit the National Emergency Briefing website.
