Truro & Penwith College funded Skills Bootcamp in EV Maintenance, 14 January-19 March 2026, Truro Campus, Truro. Book your place The Skills Bootcamp in EV Maintenance is a nine-week course designed to upskill individuals with existing professional or educational expertise within the Automotive sector, or those responsible for vehicle fleets within organisations transitioning to electric and hybrid technology, with the skills needed to service and maintain these vehicles. Thanks to funding from the Department for Education, there is no charge for individuals looking to re-train or upskill. SME employers will only need to pay 10% of the course fee if they enrol a member of staff (£236), whilst large organisations will be asked to contribute 30% (£707).
University of Exeter fully funded, hybrid training course Innovation & Leadership for the Renewable Sector, 19-30 January 2026. Register your interest Would you like to gain skills and knowledge for a career in the renewable energy sector? The University of Exeter is running a fully funded, hybrid training course exploring the radical innovation and transformational leadership skills needed to drive sustainable change in the renewable energy sector. With the transition to the green economy underway, we will explore renewable energy sectors such as wind, solar, and geothermal, examining the extensive opportunities this brings for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and the leadership and innovation skills needed to effectively achieve change. Open to eligible Cornwall residents, the course includes two weeks of online remote learning with a two-day in person residential. Funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Spaces are limited.
Truro & Penwith College funded Skills Bootcamp in Retrofit Readiness, 26 January-31 March 2026, Truro Campus, Truro. Book your place The Skills Bootcamp in Retrofit Readiness is a ten-week course that will provide adult learners with a comprehensive introduction to a range of retrofit techniques and technologies and develop the foundational knowledge and skills to enable learners to progress into further training, employment or professional services. Learners will explore the principles of domestic retrofit, carbon literacy and the critical role of energy efficiency in tackling climate change, whilst gaining practical experience in areas such as solar installation, external wall insulation and renewable heating solutions, including heat pumps. Thanks to funding from the Department for Education, there is no charge for individuals looking to re-train or upskill. SME employers will only need to pay 10% of the course fee if they enrol a member of staff (£256), whilst large organisations will be asked to contribute 30% (£767).

Book your place A 2-hour introduction to retrofitting your home that will look at the fundamentals of making houses more thermally and energy efficient, comfortable and less polluting. This course will cover the steps to retrofitting your home and it will explore the funding available for domestic retrofit.

Book your place Beginning with an overview of greenhouse gas emissions and their impact, we'll delve into strategies for achieving net-zero carbon emissions, considering sectors like energy, transport, buildings and agriculture, where most emissions come from. No prior knowledge is required for this workshop, so whether you are a student, professional, policymaker, or simply someone who wants to find out more about the need to reach net zero carbon emissions, you can register for free.
