Installation of a new area of footway opposite the Maker Church access road to access the eastbound bus stop.
What are we consulting on?
The new area of footway opposite the access to Maker Church will be located to the East of the existing signs. A new post will be installed with a new bus stop flag sign and timetable attached.
Why are we doing this?
Currently there is no infrastructure associated with this bus stop, access to bus services is from either the carriageway or grass verge. The area will feature a designated bus stop waiting zone, providing pedestrians with a safer and more convenient space to board buses via the newly installed full-height kerb.
Maker Church has been identified as a location where enhancements to the bus stop can be made, enabling passengers to wait on a dedicated section of the footway.
"SLOW" road markings are proposed to warn approaching vehicles of unexpected vehicle/pedestrian movements at the bus stops/Maker Church access road.
Next steps
Once the Consultation finishes we will collect the feedback and traffic data to decide what to do next.
