Let's talk Climate Action - Cornwall and Isles of Scilly COP26 Regional Roadshow event
Our online Let's talk Climate Action event, a partnership between Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly, was a COP26 Regional Roadshow event.
Cllr Martyn Alvey hosted the online live event, with Cllr Steve Watts Council of the Isles of Scilly Lead Member for Environment and Climate Change, Kate Kennally Chief Executive of Cornwall Council, and Paul Masters Chief Executive of the Council of the Isles of Scilly.
We were able to share messages with attendees from Alok Sharma, President of COP26, and Nigel Topping, UK High Level Climate Action Champion for UN climate talks, COP26.
Our keynote address was from Monty Halls, marine biologist, author and TV presenter.
Our event aimed to capture people’s attention and inspire and harness a collective understanding in Cornwall and on the Isles of Scilly - of how we must all collaborate and take action to tackle the Climate Emergency.
The online event featured a series of six themed conversations, focusing on the areas of Cornwall’s highest carbon emissions and how we can take action to mitigate the impact of Climate Change.
