A new messaging service is being launched across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly linking young people and families with health visitors and school nurses.
Called ChatHealth, it aims to provide a quick and easy way to access health advice and support for both parents / carers and young people on anything from potty training and breastfeeding to relationships or wellbeing.
Starting today – Monday 15 until Friday 19 January we would like to invite you to join us in testing it out.
There are three dedicated numbers:
Young people aged 11-19 can text 07312 263 096
Parents or carers of children aged 0-5 can text 07312 263 423
Parents or carers of children and young people aged 5-19 can text 07312 263 499
How it works:
When you send a text message, you will receive an automated reply confirming your text has been received. A trained healthcare professional within the health visiting or school nursing teams will then reply to you within 48 hours.
This service is funded by the Government’s Start for Life programme, the new service is available to access Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays)
This service provides confidential help and advice and is available for you to ask questions on a range of health concerns you may have, including:
Sleep
Child development
Support with behaviour
Toileting
Feeding and nutrition
Keeping safe and healthy
Childhood illnesses and support with medical conditions at school
Emotional, mental health and wellbeing
Relationships
Smoking and vaping
Drugs and alcohol
At the end of each contact, we will ask you for feedback on your experience. We really value your opinion and everything you tell us will be used to shape the development of the service and help us ensure that it works ahead of its official launch on Monday 22January 2024.

Your data will be stored securely and will only be accessible by members of Together for Families. Your consent for your data to be used in the evaluation will be assumed from you starting the survey.
Survey responses will be collected using the Let’s Talk Cornwall survey software. By completing this survey, you consent to this transfer of your information. This includes any information which may represent your personal data. All the information you share with Together for Families will be stored safely for the duration of the evaluation. It will be destroyed one year after it has finished.
