Building Bridges to tackle all forms of racism in Cornwall

Cornwall has always been considered an open and welcoming place. In July 2020, through the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Leadership Board, a BAME Steering Group was formed to promote racial equality, work to eliminate racist attitudes and behaviours across Cornwall and support our ethnic minority residents. The Group was asked to develop a set of recommendations for the Leadership Board which contained practical actions to help eradicate all forms of racism in Cornwall. These were presented to the Board on 18 September 2020.

On 30 July we held a virtual event as part of The Cornwall We Want campaign to have a discussion with a wide range of people who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME). The 'Building Bridges' event was intended as the starting point for further discussion.

On this page we would welcome hearing from you.
