Bude Youth Provision 2024

A Young People focussed Partnership meeting is planned for Autumn 2024.  This is an opportunity to revisit the in-depth study commissioned by Neetside (2020) which identified the issues affecting Bude’s Young People pre Covid. We anticipate that this meeting will be the start of a partnership project to address the needs of young people in Bude.

Research commissioned by Bude’s Town Team (2023) confirmed that the wants and needs of Bude’s young people remained unmet.

This is an opportunity to explore the currency of these studies; learn about Bude Stratton Town Council’s ambitious plans and agree a framework to move forward.

Expectations are that organisations attending this meeting will be prepared to contribute to this work going forward.

  1. To present and distribute the findings of the youth feasibility study to as many Young People as possible, as well as organisations and groups, both public and statutory bodies that service Young People in the Bude area.
  2. To encourage as many organisations as possible and individuals currently delivering support for Young People to join a new steering group committed to working together to achieve a project focussing on the needs of Young People in Bude and the surrounding parishes.
  3. To encourage Young People to join the steering group for fixed periods of time offering skills development and expenses in exchange for their contributions.
  4. To conduct a survey of local building options and potential project partners for the  development of a funding application
  5. To sustain the active participation of Young People and youth organisations as a  vital “voice “within the project planning, delivery and review stages.
