Cornish Mining WHS - Tenders open for Consultants
The Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site (CMWHS) encompasses nearly 20,000 hectares across ten Areas of Cornwall and West Devon, making it a Serial Site. In order to help protect and promote the Site, we have a published Management Plan which details the Areas of the Site, policies and strategic actions which are undertaken to maintain its UNESCO inscription.
A principal objective of the current Plan is to undertake an ecological audit of data relating to biodiversity and habitats across the CMWHS. The Ecological Audit will enable a better understanding of the wider value of the CMWHS to assist in the protection of the Site whilst supporting the Climate Change and Nature Recovery objectives of our project partners. The Ecological Audit will address the ten Areas of the WHS across Cornwall and West Devon and expressions of interest are now being invited for the consultancy.
Full details can be found in the Ecological Audit brief, and the deadline for submissions is 14th September 2025.
