On Friday 27th June, the Children's Rights Team will be facilitating a day dedicated to bringing together the voices of children and young people in Cornwall; celebrating how the voices of children and young people are influencing, impacting and resulting positive change. This day will build on the success of the last three previous Annual Conversation events, taking on board learning and feedback.
Midday: Young people from local youth and community groups will showcase their work. Council teams and partners will share how young people’s voices are being heard and making an impact.
Afternoon: Keynote speakers will share their inspiring journeys. We will then break into groups to discuss the Cornwall Youth Council goals outlined in their manifesto and results from the Right On Survey. Youth Council members will present their goal and identify the challenge/problem they are focusing on. Children, young people and adult attendees, including topic area ‘experts’, will join together to explore the challenge/problem and share what information they have around the topic to help support the Youth Councillor to develop the next stage of their plan.
Closing: Youth Councillors will present their findings and next steps in the Chamber, including who they will continue to work with (children and young people groups, Council Officers, partners, etc.).
