Various waiting restrictions and a 20mph speed limit is proposed along the new Northern Access Road to the West of Truro.

What are we consulting on?

We are proposing to introduce and amend various restrictions on waiting and a 20mph speed limit along the new Northern Access Road (NAR) to the west of Truro.

The Truro NAR is a 3.5km link road, to the north of the A390 from Penstraze to Treliske. A new roundabout will be constructed at the western end, whilst the road will tie into the RCH Treliske estate roads and Penventinnie Lane at the eastern end. This road will run parallel to the A390 and act as the spine road for the Langarth Garden Village (LGV) development. Link roads will be provided to the A390 at Maiden Green and to Oak Lane at Treliske.

A segregated cycle track will run alongside the carriageway with footways on both sides. Zebra crossings will be provided at three locations with numerous uncontrolled crossings at various points along the road. Raised tables will be provided at the majority of road junctions to act as a form of traffic calming. Parking bays will be provided at key locations.

This is not a consultation on the overall scheme as a whole, just the TRO elements.

Why are we doing this?

Overall, the proposed restrictions and crossing/cycle facilities will promote safety for all road users, and prevent obstructive/inappropriate parking, whilst creating provision for parking where needed.
