We are looking at putting in new cattle grids at 2 locations in the Tregoss Moor area.
What are we consulting on?
These locations will be specifically on the roads East of Moor View (U6114) and South of Tregoss (C120). The plan is to widen the road to fit in a wooden gate and a bypass so vehicles and cattle can get around the cattle grid if needed. We will also resolve some drainage issues and add extra fencing to connect with the boundaries that are already there.
Why?
Natural England is worried about cattle getting onto the roads, which is not safe for drivers or the animals. The objective is to stop this from happening by installing cattle grids at the entrance to Tregoss Moor. The bypass will make sure that animals and vehicles that can not go over the grid can still get through safely.
Next steps
The consultation period runs from 30th April to 21st May 2025. If no one has any major objections, we will move on to the construction phase and aim to complete this by the end of 2025.
