We are proposing to roll out a 20mph speed limit within the new housing development.
What are we consulting on?
We are proposing to extend a 20mph speed limit to encompass the new development and the junction providing access to it which is adjacent to St Erme with Trispen Community Primary School.
These proposals are part of infrastructure improvements to the local highway network in connection with the new housing development. This will be complemented by the provision of street lighting and a new footpath linking the development to an existing footpath which currently terminates outside St Erme with Trispen CP School.
It is considered that a reduced speed limit on School Lane will improve road safety, especially for vulnerable road users.
Why are we doing this?
Introducing a 20mph speed limit in this area will make our streets safer,especially for pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users. This change supports Cornwall Council’s Vision Zero goal: working towards eliminating all fatal and serious injuries on our roads.
