    The Newquay Orchard Education Team are holding an event on Monday 9th December at 3:30-5pm to explain the Supported Internships they are offering for the academic year 2024-25 which will also include a digital supported internship.

    Supported Internships are crucial in preparing young people for the world of work. They are usually the last year of Education for a young person with an EHCP and aim to gain them a sustainable, paid workplace in a sector they are passionate about.

    All educators, youth and their families interested in finding out more are welcome!

    Ambitious about Autism has designed a collection of toolkits to help more autistic young people access sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities.

    These resources are also relevant for autistic young people, their parents/carers, teachers, and other relevant professionals to support a young person to make informed choices about their future employment opportunities.

    The resource has been co-produced in partnership with Ambitious about Autism Youth Patrons as experts by experience and expert partners Creased Puddle, utilising best practice and up-to-date research, the Autism Education Trust, and the Department of Education.

    Over the past couple of months, we have been leading an innovative project to inspire independence. Travel Training, which has seen twenty-one students from three Cornish secondary schools – who have never set foot on a bus by themselves – travel to multiple destinations and arrive with the words: “I’m confident I can do that again. I loved it!”
