We are proposing to develop land at Wigeon Road in Bude for residential accommodation for social rent and shared ownership. We will be looking to support local people in affordable housing need to provide initial steps onto the housing ladder and housing at social rented values.
Once completed we are currently envisaging providing the following mix of affordable housing on site (subject to any planning requirements), the scheme proposed will provide:
Social Rent
6 one bedroomed apartments bedroom apartments
3 two bedroomed houses
3 three bedroomed houses
Shared Ownership
2 two bedroomed houses
4 three bedroomed houses
2 four bedroomed houses
Housing standard.
The homes developed will all meet Nationally Described Space Standards and will be highly energy efficient and insulated to a high standard. The homes will benefit from air source heat pumps for space heating and will have no gas connection.
The properties will be due for completion in 2023 and will be available for rent or buy through the Cornwall Homechoice lettings system.
Cornwall Council would like to thank those that took the time to respond to the Public Engagement survey. In response to some of the queries raised we have the following responses below;
The 20 homes we propose to develop will all be affordable housing as either; social rented or shared ownership. Each tenure will have connection and affordability criteria to help those in need of affordable housing locally.
Questions have been raised in regards to parking on the site, All homes will have two parking spaces with one bed roomed flats allocated a single space each.
