Thank you for your interest in this proposal. The consultation period has now concluded.

We are proposing to formalise the existing bus stops at Trevisker Garden Centre.

What are we consulting on?

The proposed scheme will improve the existing northbound and southbound bus stops on the A389 next to Trevisker Garden Centre.

On the northbound side of the road, the existing lay-by would be used only by buses. A new pedestrian route would be created between the bus stop and Trevisker Garden Centre through a new opening in the existing boundary wall. A new crossing point would also be provided to help people cross the road safely and access the southbound bus stop.

On the southbound side of the road, a new section of footway would be built to provide a safe and accessible waiting area for bus passengers, making it easier and more comfortable to use the bus stop.

These improvements are designed to make it safer and easier for people to access bus services, improve walking connections in the area, and encourage more sustainable travel choices.

Why are we doing this?

This area has been identified by Cornwall Council as part of its programme to upgrade bus stops across Cornwall and make public transport easier to use.

At present, people waiting for buses stand either at the edge of the road or near the entrance to Trevisker Garden Centre. The proposed footways would provide a safer and more convenient place to wait, while also improving accessibility for all passengers.

This location has been identified by the local community as needing improvements to make public transport safer, more accessible, and more comfortable for everyone.

Next steps.

We welcome all comments and suggestions regarding this proposal.

Any feedback received will be collated and considered before a final decision is made and we proceed.
