Sustainability on every level

I believe Cornwall should chase sustainabilty above all else.

The reason for this is to maintain Cornwall as a jewell for the country and add value and resilience to local communities.

Do this by focusing on:-

• Sustainable transport links cycling, footpaths, rail and public transport (yes it will come back post covid)
• Connectivity ultrafast broadband to to homes and businesses to allow education, homeworking and business to flourish
• Affordable housing. within existing communities to balance the threat of second home only villages. Change the council tax and business rates so as not to benefit secondhome ownership. Just do it.
• Renewable energy. Cornwall has some of the best resources for wind and solar energy in the Uk (embrace that and ensure that the benefit stays within Cornwall ie community schemes, group run collectives, jobs and training)
• Biodiversity. Cornwall has a number of unique habitats and landscapes. Protect and encourage them. encourage access to these areas where appropriate to promote pride and ownership within communities. Their long term value to the region and community cannot be overstateed.

All of the above will allow Cornwall to flourish as a region as has been shown over and over around the UK and world.

In all the above engage with local communities to drive the change
