Environmentally friendly and an end to Council corruption #2

I agree with by anotherMike and J.J.G

But earning such large salaries does not necessarily mean corruption. However, it is morally unjustifiable to have such large salaries, paid from our council taxes, when other incomes are so low in this county, it is morally unjustifiable to have such large salaries when social services are having to close from lack of money, it is morally unjustifiable to have such large salaries when council properties are not maintained, it is morally unjustifiable to have such large salaries when people are homeless.

It is also morally unjustifiable to spend a vast amount of money on consultants only to be told that our beaches are our biggest asset (only true if you are Visit Cornwall).

We need a council strong enough and brave enough to stand up to Westminster and to put ‘Cornwall First’ protecting our environment and creating sustainable, green jobs with Cornish companies and business. We are not to be lumped in the south west region, we are not Devonwall, despite the parliamentary constituency changes. We, the people, need to stand together and stop the destruction of our home, as by anotherMike said. Local elections are due next year and I, for one, will be thinking very carefully where I cast my vote.
