A place to retire #2

What I am finding so hard to understand is why the South West (Cornwall in particular) is so attractive to "outsiders" to visit or come to live. There are so many lovely parts of the UK to visit and holiday in and so many regions that are cheaper to buy into !!!

And the rest of the UK has really amazing beaches and coastlines and hills and moors and countryside plus lovely towns and villages and amazing restaurants, pubs and hotels and other places to "visit": so why ... ????

Frankly, Cornwall is over-rated as a tourist destination and is already detrimentally over-developed and increasingly trashed.

Hopefully Breusyas, what you said will be translated by somebody for the rest of us and the leader of Cornwall Council, Cornish MPs and even the Gov' in Westminster, but chances are that none will ever know what you are talking about. I certainly don't. Wasted words ?!Why not "speak" English or at least provide a translation (along-side) because it's quite likely that no one will bother to translate it for the folk you really want to connect with !

Social housing

I fear for my daughter's future, if anything happened to me she would not be allowed to stay in our home which is a housing association property. The private rents are unaffordable and shocking for what you pay for. I wouldn't swap with her, I feel so sorry for her generation for what previous generations have done. Councils sold houses and we're supposed to build new one's with the profits, SO WHERE ARE THEY?????
