We are proposing to improve the existing bus stops in Whitecross, Newquay.

What are we consulting on?

We are seeking public feedback on proposals to improve access to bus services at Whitecross, Newquay.

The proposed improvements are focused on the existing bus stops on the A392, near the junction with the C0051 road (To Piran Meadows/Whiteacres Holiday Park).

The scheme includes new footways, bus shelters and a pedestrian crossing point, making it safer and easier for people to access bus services. The improvements will enhance walking connections in the area, provide a more comfortable waiting environment for passengers, and encourage more sustainable travel choices.

Why are we doing this?

Cornwall Council has identified this location as part of its programme to upgrade bus stops across Cornwall, helping to make public transport easier and more user-friendly for everyone.

At present, passengers using the westbound bus stop have to wait on a narrow section of footway, while those using the eastbound bus stop wait on an uneven grass verge. The proposed improvements, including new footways and bus shelters, will provide a safer, more convenient and more accessible environment for people using these bus services.

Next steps.

We welcome all comments and suggestions regarding this proposal.

Any feedback received will be collated and considered before a final decision is made and we proceed.
