As an organisation Cornwall Council are looking to do something different with the buildings we deliver services from. We want to create a single space for our customers to access multiple services and meet the needs of the local community.
A review of Newquay and the surrounding area has been carried out and, after considering various options, we have decided to build a new Service Hub as part of the Station Hill redevelopment. The chosen site in Newquay is off Tolcarne Road, and is currently occupied by Lanherne House, which is used by Adult Education and a two-storey derelict building.
The current buildings will be demolished and the new hub will cater for multiple services including the Family Hub, Child Development Centre, Safe and Well, Contact Centre, Adult Education, Registrars, as well as providing space for Cornwall Council staff to work and meet. Development will be part of a wider masterplan for the site and the project will have a role in the regeneration and revitalisation of the Station Quarter area.
We know that the needs of our communities, and the way in which they want to access our buildings have changed, and we want to change with them. For more information you can find the plans on the right-hand side of this page.
The planning application for Newquay Service Hub is available to view on the Cornwall Council Online Planning Registerunder application numberPA24/02605. The deadline for this application is 21 August 2024.
