New footways to improve pedestrian access to existing bus stops in Rejerrah, near Newquay.

What are we consulting on?

We propose installing sections of footway within the highway verges to improve pedestrian access to bus services. On the northbound side, a new footway will run parallel to the verge, connecting the junction to the existing bus shelter and a designated bus waiting area adjacent to the carriageway. On the southbound side, a footway will be constructed to link with the base of the existing steps, also creating a waiting area for bus passengers. Both locations will feature a bus stop sign and timetable, which will be mounted on newly installed posts.

Why are we doing this?

This area has been identified by Cornwall Council as part of their programme of upgrading bus stops across Cornwall to make public transport more user friendly.

Currently, passengers are walking across verges to access bus services.

Next steps

Once the Consultation finishes on the 21st August 2025 we will collect the feedback and traffic data to decide what to do next.
