A new puffin pedestrian crossing is proposed for Newquay Road in Truro.

The survey is now open for responses until 27/08/2026.

What are we consulting on?

We are inviting comments on a proposal to introduce a new controlled pedestrian crossing facility within the existing signalised junction on the A39 Newquay Road, Truro.

This proposal also includes the removal of the existing uncontrolled pedestrian crossing and refuge island to simplify the crossing arrangement and improve overall junction operation and safety.

For further details of the proposed location and layout, please see the site notice.

Why are we doing this?

It is considered that the introduction of these measures will increase the safety of pedestrians when crossing the road, where the current arrangement makes safe and convenient crossing difficult, particularly during peak periods.
