In Cornwall we want to make sure that people who are eligible for care and support receive the most personalised support possible. Ensuring that they remain at home and independent for as long as possible.
Employing Personal Assistants and using Micro-Providers are both ways that people have said gives them choice and control over what happens to them when meeting their care and support needs.
Cornwall Council is looking to develop support services for people who receive Direct Payments. As part of that, we are asking Personal Assistants and Micro-Providers what works well for them in their role, so support services meet the needs of people who need the services of a PA or micro-provider and the PA’s/micro-providers themselves.
We want to hear from you
People who use Direct Payments
We want to know what worked well about employing Personal Assistants or what put you off using Personal Assistants and what sort of support would have helped.
Personal Assistants
If you are a Personal Assistant or someone who has considered being a Personal Assistant, what support did you get and what sort of support would have made your job easier?
Micro-Providers
If you support people with Direct Payments, tell us what gaps are there in Cornwall that would help more Personal Assistants take up the role?
Give us your views
Surveys are open to both members of the public and staff who deliver support to people in the community.
The surveys will close on Friday 22 December 2023 at midday.
