Cllr Linda Taylor is the Leader of Cornwall Council. She leads Cornwall Council’s Cabinet – which is the group of councillors responsible for making most of the decisions at Cornwall Council.
In 2022 we organised a range of meetings across Cornwall to give you the opportunity to ask her questions about local issues, services and priorities.
"We have based the priorities of this administration on what we heard on the doorsteps during last year’s election, and I want to make sure we continue that dialogue.
We have set ourselves a clear mission: to create a carbon neutral Cornwall where everyone can start well, live well and age well. Our priorities are based on what residents have told us matters most to them – making Cornwall:
A brilliant place to be a child and grow up;
In a thriving, sustainable Cornwall that offers a secure home, a decent income and a great environment for all;
With vibrant, safe, supportive communities where people help each other live well;
All supported by an empowering and enterprising Council that provides good value for money and gets it right first time for customers.
I want to meet as many people in as many communities as possible to talk about what we are already doing across Cornwall and at the local level to deliver against those priorities – but most of all, I want to really listen to local residents, businesses and community groups and hear what they see as the local priorities and how we can work together to make Cornwall an even better place."
Linda Taylor, Leader of Cornwall Council
How did it work?
Anyone could come to one of the sessions across Cornwall, whether to ask a question or just to listen to the discussion.
We asked people to think about the question they would most like to ask Linda Taylor – and let us know before the start of the meeting (by email ahead of the meeting or simply on arrival)
Following each meeting we published a report of the Questions and Answers, including responses to questions we didn't get round to addressing at the meeting.
