Linda leads Cornwall Council’s Cabinet – which is the group of councillors, known as Cabinet Members or Portfolio Holders, responsible for making most of the decisions at Cornwall Council.
Linda went out and about, during 2024 and 2025, to meet and hear from Cornwall's residents, visiting communities right across Cornwall.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our events and talked with Linda, and asked her a question about local issues or Cornwall Council services and priorities.
Hearing directly from people has helped Linda, her Cabinet colleagues and Council officers, to understand what is on people's minds. Linda wanted to meet as many people - in as many communities as possible.
As well as visiting 16 towns, Linda also met with some of Cornwall's d/Deaf Community at the Camborne Deaf Community Centre. British Sign Language interpreters, from Hearing Loss Cornwall, joined her to offer sign language for Deaf people with no hearing. Linda was also been invited to meet with the Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) Co-design team.
Linda visited Bodmin, Bude, Callington, Camborne, Falmouth, Helston, Launceston, Newquay, Penwithick, Penzance, Perranporth, Redruth, Saltash, St Agnes, St Austell and Truro. You can read the questions asked and responses given at each of those events, in the summary reports section.
Linda has enjoyed meeting people and hearing from them about what's on their mind.
"It has been really important to me to listen to local residents, businesses and community groups and hear what they see as the local priorities and how they think we can work together to make Cornwall an even better place.
Whilst I have been the Leader of Cornwall Council, and the Cornwall Councillor for St Ives East, Lelant and Carbis Bay, I have heard from a lot of people, who care very much about Cornwall and their local community.
I would like to thank everyone who came along to one of my public engagement events, and my Cabinet colleagues and officers who supported me."
Cllr Linda Taylor, Leader of Cornwall Council 2021 - 2025 Administration
