Pre-submission engagement has now concluded.
As an organisation Cornwall Council are looking to do something different with the buildings we deliver services from. We want to create a single space for our customers to access multiple services and meet the needs of the local community.
In Launceston we hope to create a space, called a Service Hub, where you can access the frontline services you need, when you need them. Services which will be available in the hub include the library, Adult Day Service, Registration Service, Family Service and Adult Education classes among others.
We know that the needs of our communities, and the way in which they want to access our buildings have changed, and we want to change with them. You can find the plans on the right-hand side of this page.
We have used the feedback you provided to alter the design of the building to be more in keeping with the locality, in particular the west elevation, which can be seen in the image above. This includes changing the cladding to slate and reducing the height of the building.
The planning application was approved in April 2022. You can find more information by visiting the Cornwall Council Online Planning Register and searching for PA21/10828.
