We are proposing improvements to the existing bus stops located along Scotland Road, near the entrance to Lanteague.

What are we consulting on?

Currently, these stops do not offer a designated area for pedestrians to wait, which raises concerns around safety and accessibility.

In both directions, we intend to:

  • Construct new sections of footway within the grass verge to provide a safe and accessible waiting area for passengers.
  • Install new posts to support timetable display cases and bus stop flag signs, clearly marking the location of each stop. Incorporate dropped kerbs within the new footways to create an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing point, improving access to the bus stops for all users.

Why are we doing this?

This area has been identified by Cornwall Council as part of their programme of upgrading bus stops across Cornwall to make public transport more user friendly.

Currently, passengers waiting for buses have to do so from the verge. These enhancements are designed to improve the overall safety, accessibility, and user experience for public transport passengers in the area.

Next steps

Once the Consultation finishes we will collect the feedback to decide what to do next.
