As you know, in 2019 the DfE removed the statutory requirement for schools to submit Teacher Assessments for Reading and Maths for pupils who take the Key Stage 2 tests in these subjects. Schools are still required to submit a TA using the final Pre-Key Stage Standards or Engagement Model for pupils recorded as working below the standard of the test ("B") on the Primary Assessment Gateway.
The DfE are unable to advise us which schools have pupils who have been recorded in this way and they do not make this information available to us in the Primary Assessment Gateway. We are keen to ensure a complete, accurate collection by the statutory deadline, so please take a moment to tell us how many pupils in your school this applies to, even if there are none.
We completed this exercise in 2019, and found it significantly reduced the number of queries with schools.
Please complete the survey by Friday 27th May 2022 to allow us time to collate the data as we prepare for the assessment collections.
Why take this Survey?
By taking this survey, we can:
Minimise queries on the data collection
Ensure the data is complete and validated by the statutory deadline
Negate the need for additional queries and further work once the test data is available
Minimise the work you will need to do as part of the Performance Tables Checking exercise
Reduce potential queries from the DfE
Ensure all your data is present and correct and included in your Corestats early data release in July and your September data pack, as well as the DfE provisional data and provisional ASP/IDSR.
If you do not submit the TAs for these pupils during the statutory collection, we’re concerned that your provisional data may not include their progress scores, meaning you could find your initial analysis won’t be accurate, and your pupils won’t have valid KS2 outcomes.
By telling us you don’t have any pupils registered as “B”, we will know not to contact you to confirm this is the case.
