Liskeard School and Community College meets STEAM!
The IET Faraday Challenge Day visits Liskeard School and Community College.
Girl Power!
The IET Faraday Challenge took place at Liskeard School and Community College, engaging students in an exciting exploration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Mathematics) principles. This hands-on competition provided pupils with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of STEAM, where they tackled real-world engineering problems while working collaboratively in teams. The event aimed to inspire young minds and foster an interest in these critical fields, essential for future innovation and career development.
During the challenge, the students were joined by two STEAM Ambassadors who provided guidance and encouragement, enhancing the experience for the participants. Their presence allowed the pupils to gain valuable insights into STEAM careers and the practical applications of their learning. The atmosphere was buzzing with creativity and collaboration, as the students engaged in problem-solving activities that showcased their skills and potential.
Girls in actionThe highlight of the event was the announcement of the winning team, a group of talented girls who demonstrated that STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning is not just for boys; it can empower and inspire young women to lead in these fields. Their success serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusivity in STEM education, encouraging more girls to pursue their interests in science and technology. Overall, the IET Faraday Challenge at Liskeard School not only sparked excitement for STEAM but also promoted a message of equality and empowerment in education.
