We want to hear from you. Would a charge point near your house help you make the transition to an electric vehicle because you don't have a driveway? Are there places you visit or regularly pass through that don't have electric vehicle charging?
We are looking for suggestions from individuals, communities, organisations and town and parish councils for locations for new public charge points.
Simply drop a pin on our map of Cornwall. There are some optional questions that will help us to understand more about your request.
Why are we doing this?
Cornwall needs to rapidly increase the number of electric vehicle charge points. This is to meet increasing demand, as new petrol and diesel vehicles are phased out up to 2035.
Cornwall Council is developing its plans for the network of public charge points to complement commercial networks and maximise charge point network coverage and choice for users. This will include the use of both on and off-street locations with a mix of different charge points that can charge vehicles at varying speeds and costs to meet the varying needs of drivers. Most of the charge points will be the type that deliver lower power, residential charging at slower speeds as the private sector is primarily providing higher power charging.
To minimise the cost to the council, we are applying for central government grant funding and prioritising locations on council-owned land. This involves a submission next Spring for the £5.5m of LEVI (Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure) funding provisionally allocated to Cornwall by the Department for Transport.
We can't promise to act on every suggestion as there are a lot of other factors to consider. We do promise to consider them all as part of our planning.
Thank you.

We are also seeking expressions of interest from town and parish councils that have the facilities and are interested in exploring the possibility of installing electric vehicle charging points on land they own or lease from Cornwall Council.
