Consultation has concluded

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2022-2026 describes what we plan to do over the next four years to deliver better outcomes for those living and working in Cornwall through levelling up life chances across the diverse communities of Cornwall.

It will help us meet our responsibilities under the public sector equality duty and help make sure that what we do is always for the benefit of Cornwall’s residents.

The strategy was developed by talking to some of our main equality partners, and by looking at the evidence we have in relation to inequality in Cornwall.

We consulted to get a wide range of views on the aims and objectives set out in the strategy. We welcomed views on the strategy, in particular to hear if there are any important issues we have not included.

Outcomes

The consultation closed on 14 September 2022. A report with the feedback received is available on this page and was used to inform the final version of the strategy. The final version was also updated to include Census 2021 data.

A revised version of the strategy was agreed by the Council’s Cabinet in early 2023. Copies of the finalised version of the strategy are available on the Cornwall Council website.
