Creative Health Project Update

We are pleased to announce that the project to develop the Creative, Health and Wellbeing Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (funded by the Cornwall Council's Contain Outbreak Management Fund and overseen by the Partnership) is now well and truly underway. Ambassadors for each of the Primary Care Networks have been appointed by Arts Well and they have begun their work in the communities, mapping the existing provision for health and wellbeing through arts and culture, identifying any gaps and sharing best practice, whilst connecting with health professionals, social prescribers, doctors and community link workers with the primary aim to create a sustainable and workable community infrastructure, to support communities and individuals most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Championing the message 'Creativity is good for you' (working title for the campaign) our Ambassadors aim to spread the message that the arts can help to keep us well physically and mentally, aid our recovery from illness and help to combat loneliness and isolation. Early results from the University College London' Covid Social Study indicate that engaging in creative activity has been the most protective factor for peoples wellbeing during this time. We are also working on developing an evaluation service for our partners that will help those working in the field of arts, health and wellbeing to measure the social value of their work. If you are interested in knowing more about this, there is an information session on 8th December- see here for more details.
