Phase Two - 15th October 2026

Deck preparation works, including shot blasting of the concrete bridge deck to remove the existing waterproofing are now complete. A condition and cover survey followed, identifying a small number of localised concrete repairs which will now be completed before application of the new waterproofing system begins.

The next stage of the project involves application of the new waterproofing system across the bridge deck. As this work is highly dependent on suitable weather conditions, there may be periods where little or no activity is visible on site during wet or windy weather. However, over the coming weeks, you may notice the bridge deck changing colour as the waterproofing system is applied. The system is installed in three separate layers, each with a different colour, meaning the deck surface will gradually change from yellow, to white and finally to red as the works progress.
