EVENT POSTPONED:

It is with regret that we have had to take the difficult decision to postpone the Cornwall Bus Conference tomorrow (24 June) at New County Hall.

You will be aware that due to the extreme weather conditions forecast across the country over the next couple of days, ‘essential travel only’ in being advised. This has been further reinforced by GWR who are advising the same, and that rail services will be limited.

A growing number of attendees have been contacting us either to cancel (based on their heeding of the travel advice and uncertainty around limited rail travel), or to ask if we are intending to cancel due to the warnings. With key attendees now unable to attend due to the travel advice, we have decided to postpone the conference to ensure attendees’ safety and welfare is not compromised. Due to the format of the conference, a switch to an online version is not considered appropriate for this event so we will postpone for another date (TBC) when we can meet in person.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’re holding the Cornwall Bus Conference on Wednesday 24th June, 4.30–7.30pm at New County Hall, Truro. We're inviting those with an interest in bus services in Cornwall to attend. It’s a chance to find out how local bus services work, what challenges they face, and what the future holds.

The programme includes short talks, interactive activities. We’ll explain how the bus network is paid for and run, what’s been delivered so far, and what could change in the future. We will help clear up some common myths and give a realistic picture of the bus network today. We’ll also look ahead to future options, including bus reform and franchising.

This event is not just about us sharing information - we will be listening as well. There will be a panel discussion with bus operators and other partners about what we can all do to support better, more reliable bus services. This will include an opportunity to ask panel members your questions.

We’d really like you to be part of the conversation and help shape the future of transport in Cornwall.
