Low Water Levels

Visitors to the Bude Canal will have noticed that the canal is experiencing low water levels. This is due to the continued dry weather which means that water availability from the natural rivers in the catchment is low.

In these situations, we draw less water into the canal to reduce impacts on natural rivers. The Sea Lock will also remain closed until further notice.

The canal is being monitored every day, and we are working with stakeholders to make sure that we can take action to protect and conserve wildlife if needed.
