Bodmin, Tregear Avenue: Waiting Restrictions
Thank you for your interest in these proposals. The consultation period has now concluded.
Any feedback received during this time has been recorded and will be considered by senior officers at Cornwall Council.
A decision will be made in due course as to whether to proceed with the proposals, amend them or abandon them. Following this, respondents will be notified of the outcome.
Outcome
Thank you for participating in the recent consultation regarding the proposal to introduce “no waiting at any time” restrictions within the new housing development, together with provision for new bus stops to support accessible public transport services. I am writing to inform you of the outcome.
A number of comments were received about the proposals, mainly relating to the availability of on‑street parking for residents and visitors. Concerns were also raised about the junction between Tregear Avenue and Lamorrick Drive, including whether it would provide enough space for large vehicles and how it might affect traffic flow.
All properties within the development have off‑street parking, which was considered and accepted as part of the planning process. The proposed parking restrictions are intended to keep access routes clear and ensure vehicles can move safely around the development, particularly along the main road and at key turning points. The road and junction layouts have undergone technical review. Bus services will operate only on the main spine road and will not need to use the Tregear Avenue/Lamorrick Drive junction.
Following careful consideration of all representations, it has been resolved that the scheme will be implemented as advertised.
The developer has been advised accordingly and will be responsible for delivering the required works. Please note that the new restrictions and associated highway measures will not come into effect until all works have been completed on site.
What are we consulting on?
Cormac, on behalf of Cornwall Council, is inviting comments on a proposal to introduce double yellow lines associated with a new residential development at Tregear Avenue, Bodmin. The scheme also includes two new bus stops to help make public transport more accessible for everyone in the area.
Why are we doing this?
These changes are proposed as part of an agreement between The Council and the developer to improve the roads around the Bodmin Hospital site.
The main aim of the scheme is to keep the roads clear so that vehicles can get through easily and turn safely.
