THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED.
Thank you for your time in completing our air quality survey, your opinion is important to us.
The survey closed on Friday 29th September 2023 and 1207 responses were received. 63% of respondents felt improving Cornwall’s air quality had the highest three levels of importance, showing residents care about Cornwall’s air quality and want to continue to see improvements.
We have already used the results to demonstrate the need for a Cornwall wide air quality monitoring and behaviour change project. The results formed a key part of the application to DEFRA for funding to deliver the project. DEFRA will notify local authorities if they have been successful with their funding application in March 2024.
The survey results will be further used in the coming months to help shape the new Clean Air for Cornwall Strategy. The new strategy will allow residents to better understand: 1) Their impact on local air quality 2) Measures they can implement to reduce their exposure to poor air quality. Key findings from the survey will be incorporated into the new strategy including how you would like to be communicated with in regard to air quality, what air quality information you would like to receive and what behaviours you are likely to alter.
Once the new Clean Air for Cornwall Strategy has been drafted, there will be an opportunity for you to have your say on it and provide any feedback. Comments and feedback will be reviewed by the Environmental Protection team and where possible, incorporated into the final version.
